Well, we've returned from our long weekend in Virginia Beach. We had a great time and Jason did great in the race. It was a nasty, hot, humid day and I'm amazed anyone finished the race! Erin and I sat on the beach most of the morning, and it was miserable there at 6 a.m.....so I can't imagine what it was like trying to run 13 miles (honestly I can't imagine running 13 miles at all....let alone in hot weather.) The up-side was that they finished at the beach. A lot of runners kicked their shoes off and headed straight in the water.
Despite the fact that the weather was positively "thick" Jason said he felt really good at the end. He's looking forward to tackling another full marathon in November! Crazy man!
I'll put up more photos of our weekend later, but I wanted to get these up for now!
