Catching up with photos.

Here are a few photos from the past week or so...

The day after Thanksgiving we went to a Dickens Holiday Festival downtown. We went to this the last time we lived here and it was nice, so I was eager to return. It was great again! Lots of people in costume, vendors, food, carriage rides, a candlelight procession to the Market House where they lit the town tree. It was a great night!

Erin and I went to the Fort Bragg tree lighting. While the tree was pretty unimpressive, the event was fun for Erin. They had free cocoa and cookies (always a winner !) and bouncy houses and a "train" ride. Erin somehow managed to get the prized seat next to Frosty.

Last week was our unit Holiday Party. As always, Santa made an appearance and Erin was the first to jump on his lap. Thanks to the Dollar Tree, all the kids got free presents from Santa. This was a great thing because usually the unit buys the gifts (and therefore someone has to take the time to do all the shopping and we have have to fund-raise to pay for it) or each family brings their own wrapped gift for their child. I've not seen the Dollar Tree "tooting their own horn" about this program, but think it's a great way to support our military kids. We had a ton of gifts. Shanon said that their unit in Washington also took advantage of the program and got bags and bags and bags of gifts. Thanks Dollar Tree!
